Henry Lafferty MSc FCMA (55), having qualified as an accountant in the glass industry, spent the major part of his early career with NFC plc (now part of Deutsche Post), including five years as Finance Director and four years as Managing Director of its property arm. During this period, NFC moved from the public sector to the private sector and on to the London Stock Exchange.

He completed the Sloan Fellowship Masters Programme at London Business School prior to joining Jarvis plc in 1994 as Group Finance Director and Chairman of Jarvis Projects (the PFI/PPP arm). He left the Jarvis plc board in 2001 and in the same year was appointed Chief Executive of PatientFirst Partnerships Limited (now part of Care Capital PLC), a business formed to provide serviced accommodation to the primary care sector.

He is also an executive director of and shareholder in InvestSelect PLC, an investment and management services company, and a non-executive director of a number of other companies, including City of London Group plc.
